FSG Brand Spotlight Blog- Eco-Takeouts

As part of our brand spotlight series this month we are exploring the Eco-Takeout range from GET enterprises. Eco-Takeout was first launched by FSG in 2013 with the aim to save rather than destroy our planet. These reusable food containers replace disposables helping food outlets reduce carbon footprint and save money.

Facts about Eco-Takeout:

The Eco-Takeout boxes are Sedex approved

Sedex stands for Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, and is an international organisation that certifies suppliers and manufacturers adhere to ethical practices. This includes fair working conditions and pay, no slave or under age labour as well as good health and safety standards.

Eco-takeouts were developed by a sustainability student

Eco-takeouts were created by Audrey Copeland, a sustainability graduate from Eckerd College in Florida. Whilst Audry was studying the harm caused to wildlife by disposable packaging littering the environment, she came up with the idea of using a reusable on-the-go food container in closed loop environments and won a grant to bring this idea to market. GET Enterprises have further developed this amazing range of products, which reduce the environmental impact associated with ‘to go’ food. GET is the leading manufacturer of creative tabletop solutions specialising in commercial food service industries. At FSG we also have some of GETS other products such as their Melamine Dinnerware and adapted healthcare products.

Eco-Takeouts operate in a closed loop system

One of the main aims when trying to become more sustainable in regards to plastic production is to ‘close the loop’. This means that the aim is to reuse and recycle products without material loss to ensure less use of raw materials.

Eco-takeouts are Microwave and Dishwasher safe

All of the Eco-Takeouts are microwave and dishwasher safe, so there will be no damage to any of your takeout boxes even when using commercial dishwashers. They are designed to be stacked and are also break, odour and stain free.

Next in our brand spotlight series we will be looking at our Corretto range.
